Owned sample cue 2: 00:00:02,000 --> 00:00:05,400 in SRT becomes 00:00:02.000 --> 00:00:05.400 in the generated VTT. The text “Resize a landscape video without stretching.” is retained.

How to convert subtitles

  1. 1.

Paste or upload SRT/VTT, or load the sample.

  2. 2.

    Inspect parsed cues and warnings.

  3. 3.

Choose the output format, copy it, or download it.

What conversion changes

SRT uses comma-separated milliseconds. VTT uses a WEBVTT header and dot-separated milliseconds. Renaming an extension is insufficient. Cue text and timing remain the same in a basic conversion.

What may not survive

VTT placement, regions and style blocks have no direct SRT equivalent. Review any warning before saving. Overlapping cues can be valid VTT but may be awkward to read. Conversion does not translate or recognize speech.
